During April 21- 24, 2015 in Moscow there was held 20^th-anniversary international exhibition TransRussia 2015, the largest transport and logistics event in Russia, CIS and Baltic states.   TransRussia 2015 was conducted under the auspices of the Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation, under official support of the Committee of the State Duma on energy, transport and communication, Federal service for supervision in the sphere of transport, Federal Agency for Railway Transport, Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport, JSC Russian Railways, Freight Forwarders Association of the Russian Federation and other federal executives bodies and industry associations.

TransRussia annually attracts leading specialists and experts of transport and logistics industry including cargo carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, railroad operators, ports and cargo terminals operators, manufacturers of freight terminal machinery and warehouse equipment and others. In this year the total area of an exhibition exceeded 18000 sq.m thus representing 10 percent of expansion by comparison with previous events.

VTN representatives are visiting every TransRussia exhibition. An event gives an opportunity to discuss current issues of development of the Russian transport infrastructure, to find out more about new IT systems supported interaction between various types of transport and aimed at successful logistics solutions. And this year visitors from Vneshtrans had an opportunity to meet leaders of transport and logistics industry, many of whom are VTN partners, to discuss various questions from transport and logistics services to logistics software.

At the initiative of Bridgestone and within the framework of cooperation on realization of Bridgestone large investment project in Russia our company, VTN-Agency, has prepared and arranged a working meeting with leading officials of Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (FCS).

An event has taken place on February 19, 2015 in the FCS office in Moscow. “Bridgestone Tire Manufacturing C.I.S. LLC”, “Nippon Express (Rus)” LLC and VTN-Agency have been represented by high-level executives.

At the meeting there have been discussed current issues of goods classification and optimization of customs procedures for goods imported to build “Bridgestone Tire Manufacturing C.I.S. LLC” factory in Ulyanovsk - the largest Japanese investment project on Russian soil at the moment. VTN-Agency proposed for consideration several different options for acceleration of customs clearance process.

Mr. Sergey Konovalenko, Head of Customs Cooperation Department of FCS emphasized that FCS is open for the international cooperation and ready to develop the modern customs technologies giving certain advantages to major and reliable partners like “Bridgestone Tire Manufacturing C.I.S. LLC” on basis of preliminary data interchange. He suggested and expressed support for development of “Green Corridor” procedure for this project as a trial customs technology.

Participants expressed content with results of the meeting and outlined further steps to be taken to promote these results.

On Tuesday December, 9, an opening ceremony was held in St. Petersburg to launch the second phase of Nissan plant in St. Petersburg. The plant total area is 165 hectares. Body shop, shop of plastic products, painting and final assembly shop occupy 60 ha of territory. The number of models produced will be increased from three to five. These days Nissan plant produces Nissan Teana, Nissan Murano, Nissan Pathfinder and Nissan X-Trail models. In the year 2015 Nissan Qashqai cars will be added. At the construction stage of the second phase of Nissan plant VTN-Agency provided Nissan with logistics and customs clearance services including obtaining of Federal Customs Service (FCS) of the Russian Federation classification decisions for production machinery.

«VTN-Agency» has taken part in one of the latest tender issued by LLC «Toyota Motor» in July of 2014. The tender was held by a well-known car manufacturer as part of efforts for production modernization and manufacturing equipment importation for conveyor line assembly of Toyota RAV4 crossover at Toyota plant in St. Petersburg. In early September of this year after completion of tender review process our company has been selected for the provision of comprehensive freight forwarding and customs clearance services.

In July, 2014 «Petersburg-Vneshtrans» got the latest in a series of licenses for non-military and service weapon and related cartridges storage. The licence was obtained from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. For the customers inside the country and abroad «Petersburg-Vneshtrans» provides in-transit storage services at own terminal and warehouse facilities located at St. Petersburg Seaport to store non-military and service weapon including hunting & sporting guns and cartridges. Special storage premises are equipped with necessary machinery, security alarm, video monitoring, and automatic system of fire extinguishing. It's worth to say that services we offer are unique for the region.

At the initiative of the Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and the President of Russia Vladimir Putin the Year 2014 was declared the Year of the Russian language and literature in Germany and the German language and literature in Russia.

On June, 26, 2014, at the invitation of Mr. Alexander Busko, General Director of «Petersburg-Vneshtrans» and Mrs. Tatiana Avdeeva, General Director of «WTN Spedition GmbH», we’ve been visited by Dr. Angelika Eder, Director of Goethe-Institut in St. Petersburg. Goethe-Institut was established in St. Petersburg in 1993 as division of department of culture of Consulate general of Federal Republic of Germany in St. Petersburg.

The primary goals of Goethe-Institut are support and development of the Germany - Russia bilateral dialogue in culture and education, presenting and distribution of information on Germany, promotion of German language in St. Petersburg and in Russian North-West region, fostering international cooperation between Russia and Germany.

Goethe-Institut arranges and supports vast variety of cultural events to present German culture and to promote Germany - Russia cultural exchange. Exhibitions of German artists and photographers, concerts, conferences and seminars, film festivals - events like these become possible with the help of logistics companies.

Details of mutual cooperation and joint projects of Goethe-Institut and our companies have been discussed at the meeting.

Business talks between top-managers of VTN-Agency, Bridgestone and Nippon Express (see previous news dated May, 2014) are on their final phase. In June, 2014 all involved people have met at Bridgestone office and visited building site of Bridgestone plant in Ulyanovsk, Russia. Works schedule and cooperation in details have been discussed at the meeting.

At the invitation of Consulate general of Federal Republic of Germany in St. Petersburg and Hamburg Chamber of Commerce representation in St. Petersburg,  on April, 23 - 30, 2014 representatives of WTN Spedition GmbH have taken part in a number of events of «The German week - 2014».

The seminar “Doing business in Hamburg” held by Leningrad Chamber of Commerce and Industry was among events that we were participating. The main topics of the seminar were opportunities that Hamburg presents for businesses. Vladimir Bogdanov delivered the report entitled “Hamburg and St. Petersburg - two logistics partners”.

Tatyana Perfilieva, head of material and technical support team, marks remarkable anniversary - 30 years of her career in Vneshtrans! For years of her working life Tatyana Evgenjevna became top-ranking specialist and has earned great reputation from her colleagues and friends.
