At the initiative of the Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and the President of Russia Vladimir Putin the Year 2014 was declared the Year of the Russian language and literature in Germany and the German language and literature in Russia.
On June, 26, 2014, at the invitation of Mr. Alexander Busko, General Director of «Petersburg-Vneshtrans» and Mrs. Tatiana Avdeeva, General Director of «WTN Spedition GmbH», we’ve been visited by Dr. Angelika Eder, Director of Goethe-Institut in St. Petersburg. Goethe-Institut was established in St. Petersburg in 1993 as division of department of culture of Consulate general of Federal Republic of Germany in St. Petersburg.
The primary goals of Goethe-Institut are support and development of the Germany - Russia bilateral dialogue in culture and education, presenting and distribution of information on Germany, promotion of German language in St. Petersburg and in Russian North-West region, fostering international cooperation between Russia and Germany.
Goethe-Institut arranges and supports vast variety of cultural events to present German culture and to promote Germany - Russia cultural exchange. Exhibitions of German artists and photographers, concerts, conferences and seminars, film festivals - events like these become possible with the help of logistics companies.
Details of mutual cooperation and joint projects of Goethe-Institut and our companies have been discussed at the meeting.
